Lt. Gen. Stephen Whiting '89 has been nominated to take the helm of U.S. Space Command, succeeding Gen. James Dickinson as the U.S. Defense Department’s top military space operations leader.
Since 2020, Gen. Whiting has served as the head of Space Operations Command, one of the Space Force’s three field commands. He has previously held positions at U.S. Air Force and Space Force headquarters, SPACECOM and the Office of the Secretary of Defense.

Starship-19 Redesignation Ceremony Set
After 30 years as the Wolverines, CS-19 is going back to the future and will be redesignated as Starship-19 — the squadron’s previous moniker.
To celebrate this change, former squadron members are invited to a special Redesignation Ceremony at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 12 in the Arnold Hall Theater.
