Graduates, families and friends of the U.S. Air Force Academy offered a strong and unified message of support for the institution and its leader-of-character mission during the second annual 1Day1USAFA on Aug. 2. More than 2,800 donors, including nearly 1,900 graduates, contributed more than $2.4 million in support of academic and service programs, class giving projects, capital improvements and more.
“Thank you to all of the generous, thoughtful donors who supported the Academy’s timeless mission, the cadets and cadet candidates, and our graduates and programs through participation in 1Day1USAFA,” said Mark Hille ’97, president of the Association of Graduates and Air Force Academy Foundation. “The United States Air Force Academy develops the leaders of character our Air Force and Space Force require to protect and defend our nation, and the support from donors on 1Day1USAFA will play a role in their leadership journey.”

After 30 years of using the Wolverines as its moniker, CS-19 is now Starship 19, the designation the squadron held from 1976 to 1993. Cadets, with the help of legacy graduates, have been working for months on the redesignation back to Starship 19. Watch for the September edition of Checkpoints which includes a story with many more details.
