1Day1USAFA will be an opportunity for the entire Air Force Academy community — graduates, parents, families and friends — to unite in support of the cadets at USAFA. The much-anticipated modernization of Falcon Stadium will impact more than the athletes who play football and lacrosse there. Its impact will extend well beyond a passionate athletics fanbase and even beyond the annual celebration of 1,000 cadets graduating on the field. ►
Prep School

Col. Michael Cornelius, a 1996 graduate of the Prep School and a 2000 graduate of the Academy, takes over the duties of the Prep School's top officer from Col. Melissa Youderian '98, who moves over to the Academy's behavioral sciences and leadership department to teach cadets the leadership 200 course. ►
The military offers women unique challenges and opportunities, says U.S. Transportation Command commander Gen. Jacqueline Van Ovost '88.

• Maj. Gen. Kevin Kennedy '90 confirmed as Air Force cyber boss. ►

• Col. Justin Spears '98 officially takes the helm of the 49th Wing stationed at Holloman Air Force Base, the nation's third-largest U.S. Air Force installation. Outgoing commander Col. Ryan Keeney '97 is being promoted to brigadier general and being reassigned to a base in South Korea. ►

The 32,000 American airmen in 3rd Air Force have a new boss, as Maj. Gen. Derek France '92 takes over from Lt. Gen. Randall Reed '89, who becomes second in charge at Air Mobility Command at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois and puts on a third star. ►

• Brig. Gen. Jeffrey Geraghty '97 returns to Eglin Air Force Base as the new commander of the 96th Test Wing. ►

• Capt. Daniel Reynolds '17 is the first Space Force guardian to graduate from the Army's Sapper Leader Course for combat engineers. ►

Leading 'Team 10': Col. Christopher Leonard '97 reports on his first year as commander of the 10th Air Base Wing. ►
July 4
On July 4, Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Michael Gould '76, CEO of the Association of Graduates and the Air Force Academy Foundation, spoke to the basic cadets in the Arnold Hall Theater about their legacy class and how Independence Day now holds a different meaning because they are no longer civilians. ►
Academy's annual field lab prepares civil engineering majors to serve anytime and anywhere. ►

• USAFA Cadets Kamryn Olkowski and Mayra Quintana look back on their summer with the D'Aniello Institute for Veteran and Military Families. ►
