Jones

Brig. Gen. Otis C. Jones '95 became the new commander of the 86th Airlift Wing (largest Air Force wing in Europe and Africa) and pledged his very best to the 8,000 airmen now in his command. His last assignment was as vice superintendent at the Air Force Academy. ►
• Col. (Ret.) Michael B. Black '85 joins AFCEA as vice president for defense. ►

• Brig. Gen. William Freeman '96 takes command of Air War College. ►

• Col. Christopher Meeker '00 takes charge of 88th Air Base Wing. ►

• Col. Matthew Johnston '01 assumes control of the 56th Operations Group. ►

• Lt. Col. Randall Gibbs '03 welcomed as new commander of 908th Civil Engineer Squadron. ►

• Lt. Col. Gresham '07 now leading the 716th Test Squadron. ►
FERL

Earlier this summer, USAFA cadets interested in engineering careers spent some time at FERL (Field Engineering and Readiness Laboratory) learning how to build, repair and plan projects. One day, however, was set aside to study how explosives damage structures.
