Lt. Col. Alex Pelbath '01 is the inaugural recipient of the prestigious Sullenberger Award for Courage — named in honor of Ambassador Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger '73, retired US Airways captain who saved 155 lives on Flight 1549 in 2009.

Col. Maiya Anderson '97 earns NCAA Silver Anniversary Award. ►

Former Navy SEAL Capt. (Ret.) John Doolittle '92 was back at the Academy to talk with cadets about lessons learned during his 25 years in the military. ►

Maj. Chris Ferguson '09 was awarded the Bronze Star for meritorious achievement. ►

NASA astronaut Col. Raja Chari '99 recently answered cadet questions from the International Space Station.

Board Directors

The Air Force Academy Foundation has added three new board directors and named its first-ever honorary director. Retired Gen. Norton Schwartz '73, Rod Little '92 and Alex Granados '04 have joined the board. William Hybl has been named the board's first honorary director.

Air Force Men's Basketball fended off UNLV for a 69-62 win Thursday night at Clune Arena. Freshman Ethan Taylor led the team in scoring, coming off the first triple-double in school history on Saturday. ►

For the only second time in program history, Air Force Woman's Basketball took down the visiting Fresno State Bulldogs on Wednesday night. ►
