Our first day of giving in support of the Air Force Academy — 1Day1USAFA — was a tremendous success!

Graduates, parents, families and friends came together to support Academy programs, cadets and Long Blue Line history and heritage. ►
While gifts are still be counted, all indicators are that our goals for number of donors and dollars raised were surpassed, with more than 2,500 donors who contributed more than $1.2 million. Final results will be announced soon. Find out more about class and parent participation on the 1Day1USAFA leaderboards. ►
Acceptance Day

The Class of 2026 was accepted into the Cadet Wing at the Acceptance Day Parade this morning.

Groundbreaking

The U.S. Air Force Academy celebrated the ceremonial groundbreaking for TrueNorth Commons, a new gateway to the Academy outside the north gate. TrueNorth Commons will be the new home of the Academy Visitor Center, a hotel, an office complex and retail and restaurant options for the booming north side of Colorado Springs.

Distinguished Graduates

• This year's Distinguished Graduates were honored during a dinner July 22. Watch the featured videos and a replay of the event. ►

• More than 200 grads marched back from Jacks Valley with the Class of 2026 and had the opportunity to engage with the Basic Cadets. ►
• Col. (Ret.) Cathy McClain '82, former AOG board chair, was recently highlighted as a hometown hero. Her 25-year military career and service has taken her all over the world. ►

16th Air Force (Air Forces Cyber) welcomed Lt. Gen. Kevin Kennedy '90 as new commander. ►

• Lt. Gen. Alexus G. Grynkewich '93 became the commander of Ninth Air Force (Air Forces Central) July 21, succeeding Lt. Gen. Gregory Guillot '89. ►

• Lt. Col. (Ret.) Christine Mau '97: Pioneering female F-35 pilot reflects on legacy of women in military aviation. ►

Luke Air Force Base's new commander, Brig. Gen. Jason M. Rueschhoff '97, arrives from South Korea. ►

• Col. Derek Salmi '98 takes reins as Travis Air Force Base commander. ►

Fairchild Air Force Base welcomed Col. Chesley L. Dycus '00 as new wing commander. ►

Introducing Lt. Col. Jennifer Johnson '02: 17th Healthcare Operations Squadron commander. ►

• Lt. Col. Juan Araoz '04 took command of the 314th Training Squadron. ►
