Forged In Blue

Forged in Blue: The connection between the Air Force Academy Class of 2024 and its Legacy Class of 1974 grew stronger as donated rings were melted down to be added to rings being made for the second-class cadets.

Groundbreaking

Five cadets received their degrees last week during a small graduation ceremony after they completed their final requirements. Four of the new officers commissioned into the Air Force while one is now a Space Force Guardian.

CONGRATULATIONS ►
• Chuck Delich '77 named hockey volunteer coach for Air Force hockey. Delich holds or is tied for 14 Academy records and is still the top goal scorer in NCAA history. ►

• D.J. Vanas '93 offers 8 pieces of wisdom from Native American culture to live a good life. ►

• Col. Jonathan Graham '99 takes command of 58th Special Operations Wing. ►

• Col. Bryan M. Bailey '01 took the helm of the 911th Airlift Wing. ►

• Maj. Joshua Smith '10 assumes command of 586th Flight Test Squadron, Detachment 1. ►

Acceptance Day

The Class of 2024 held their Commitment Dinner last week. Once the cadets return to the Academy for their second class year, they incur the financial or active-duty commitment for their education if they depart the Academy prior to graduation. Members of their Legacy Class of 1974 were invited to celebrate!
