NCLS Focuses on One's Warrior Ethos
The 28th annual National Character and Leadership Symposium (NCLS) at the United States Air Force Academy was, for the first time, conducted virtually Feb. 24-26 due to the ongoing global pandemic. The event still included an impressive slate of speakers who focused on the 2021 theme of "Warrior Ethos as Airmen and Citizens."

The Air Force Academy Foundation has moved its online videos to YouTube. The videos highlight donor impacts at the Air Force Academy, cadet successes, fundraising initiatives and Foundation-related event information. Users can subscribe to the channel (click the red "Subscribe" button) to receive announcements about new videos when they are added.

A-10 Pilots Awarded Trophy for 'Most Meritorious Flight'
Two A-10 fighter pilots were awarded the MacKay Trophy at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base for a combat sortie they flew together in Afghanistan. The Chief of Staff of the Air Force Gen. Charles Q. Brown, Jr., presented Lt. Col. Charles Stretch '05 and Capt. Alexander Boules '15 the award for "the most meritorious flight of 2019," during which the two Air Force Academy graduates with very different levels of experience quickly launched to support Afghan forces being overrun by the Taliban.

Former Astronaut's Career Links Tuskegee Airmen to International Space Station
Col. (Ret.) Fred Gregory '64 has flown hundreds of different aircraft, overseen the United States' involvement in the International Space Station, traveled the world and commanded multiple space shuttle missions. He reflects on his past with a sense of awe at the stories of flight and adventure he heard at the knees of Tuskegee Airmen and a feeling that he helped carry a torch lit by those pioneering pilots.

Biden Nominates AFRL Commander for Second Star
President Joe Biden has nominated Brig. Gen. Heather Pringle '91, commander of Air Force Research Laboratory, for promotion to major general. Pringle assumed command of AFRL at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in June 2020.

Baseball Upsets #7 LSU in Comeback Thriller, 6-5
The Air Force Academy baseball team used a three-run ninth inning to complete a comeback upset win over #7 LSU last week. For the Falcons, it was the first win over a top-10 ranked team since 2010.
