Planetarium Welcomes Nearly 40,000 Visitors
Since its renovation and reopening in March 2019, the Planetarium and STEM Center has welcomed nearly 40,000 visitors. Academy graduates John Martinson '70 and Jerry Bruni '70 helped the Air Force Academy Foundation raise over $2.5 million for the renovation project.

USAFA Way of Life Committee Falcon Funder
The USAFA Way of Life Committee is the largest mission/affinity club open to all cadets with more than 200 members. Similar to Black Student Unions at other institutions, the Way of Life Committee is dedicated to promoting and preserving cultural consciousness, excellence, integrity and service. Help the club raise $10,000 to send up to 12 cadets to the annual Big XII Conference for Black Student Government at the University of Oklahoma later this month.

Special Ops Pilot, Astronaut Receive 2019 Jabara Award
The 2019 Colonel James Jabara Award went to astronaut Col. Nick Hague '98 and special operations pilot Maj. Caitlin Reilly '07 in a ceremony at the staff tower in front of several thousand cadets on Feb. 7.

Grad Awarded FAA's Highest Honor
Steve Stowe '69 was given the FAA's Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award on Dec. 17. Named after the inventors of the airplane and America's first pilots, the award honors those who have shown professionalism, skill and expertise for at least 50 years as a master pilot.

Since 1959, the Olmsted Scholar Program has challenged young military officers to learn a foreign language and pursue graduate studies in that language at a foreign university. Here are some recent updates from grads:

Women's Hoops Gives Fresno State First Conference Loss
Air Force upended the Mountain West Conference regular season champions Fresno State, 88-65, handing the Bulldogs their first conference loss of the season and snapping their 14-game win streak. Air Force has now knocked off the league's top-two teams in its the last two games.

Falcons Take Season Opener Over Manhattan, 4-3
The Air Force Academy baseball team opened the 2020 season on a high note with a 4-3 victory over Manhattan College Friday afternoon, Feb. 14, at Melching Field. The Falcons used a three-run sixth inning, as well as some solid pitching, to take the season opener.
