Public Health Emergency at Academy Extended for 30 Days, Some Restrictions Lifted
After the base commander extended the public health emergency at the Air Force Academy until May 23, Col. Brian Hartless, 10th Air Base Wing commander, also announced he intends to reopen parts of the base, a move in line with Colorado Gov. Jared Polis' "safer at home" order.

Academy Unveils Memorials Honoring Air Force Campaigns at Falcon Stadium
When Falcon Stadium opens after the global COVID-19 pandemic abates, sports fans will see a series of memorials honoring airmen who fought in campaigns around the world. Today, the memorial highlights five campaigns: The Berlin Airlift, Operations Allied Force, Desert Storm, Inherent Resolve and Linebacker II. The goal is to eventually include as many as 20 campaigns placed on the walls between the tiers of seats at the stadium.

Higher Education: AF Academy Cadet Earns Truman Scholarship
A cadet majoring in legal studies and humanities at the Air Force Academy is one of 62 college students throughout the U.S. to receive the Truman scholarship, which funds public service. "When Brig. Gen. Linell Letendre, the Academy's dean, shared the news, I could not stop smiling," said Cadet 2nd Class Aryemis Brown, scholarship winner.

Zane Lewis Signed as a Priority Free Agent by NFL's Arizona Cardinals
Air Force's Zane Lewis, a 2020 Academy graduate, has been signed as a priority free agent by the National Football League's Arizona Cardinals. Lewis was a three-year lettermen and two-year starter for the Falcons. Lewis recorded 45 total tackles and a team-best 15 pass breakups last season. He ranked fourth in the Mountain West and 20th nationally in pass breakups.

TJ Fumagalli Named Mountain West Women's Tennis Player of the Year
Senior TJ Fumagalli was named Mountain West Women's Tennis Player of the Year for the 2019-20 season. The honor is the first-ever MW Player of the Year accolade for the women's tennis program at Air Force. Fumagalli and fellow senior Nadeen Lieberman also earned all-conference doubles honors.
