Drone Light Show
Tonight from 8:00-8:30 p.m. there will be a FREE drone light show presentation above the U.S. Air Force Academy campus. As a leader in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), the Academy is excited to demonstrate the ability of 500 swarming drones to tell a visually immersive story.

Each spring, the Association of Graduates has the pleasure of honoring graduates who attended the United States Air Force Academy within the last 15 years with our Young Alumni Excellence Award. The award is presented on the basis of the recipient's outstanding professional achievements and contributions to their community, whether in military or civilian life. Nomination deadline: Jan. 10, 2020.

Crowdfunding for Cadet Ice Hockey Club
The USAFA Cadet Ice Hockey Club will benefit from a crowdfunding initiative that will raise money for uniforms, travel and a cargo trailer for team road trips. More than 40 cadets play for the club team, building warrior ethos and developing leadership skills. They compete in the American Collegiate Hockey Association.

The 2020 Air Force Academy Fund calendar will be mailed to Air Force Academy Fund donors beginning in December. The calendar features photos from cadets, staff, parents and graduates, showcasing new perspectives of the Academy. Academy Hails New Dean with Assumption of Command Ceremony
The Air Force Academy heralded in its new dean in an official assumption of command ceremony Oct. 17. Brig. Gen. Linell Letendre '96, previously a permanent professor and head of the school's law department, replaces Brig. Gen. Andrew Armacost, who stepped down in September to retire.

AFRL Honors Late Director in Building Dedication
The new name of the building is the Terry S. Duncan Space Technology and Research Laboratory. Duncan '92 served as director of the National Reconnaissance Office Communications Directorate director from 2011 until his passing June 17, 2017, and was honored by having the laboratory named after him.

Falcons Run By Utah State for 31-7 Victory
The Air Force football team used a potent rushing attack and a stifling defense to run away with a commanding 31-7 victory over Utah State Saturday evening, Oct. 26, at Falcon Stadium. Air Force (6-2) is now bowl eligible for the first time since 2016.

Finishing 3-1, Air Force started the season in fine fashion. The Air Force rifle team will travel to West Point, N.Y., for the annual President's Trophy Matches against Army, Navy and the Coast Guard on Nov. 2.
