Vote Today — Time Is Running Out
Overall, the AOG election stands at 19.4% of eligible members having voted. That leaves us 5.6% percent short of the required quorum percentage (25%). We're almost there, but time is running short. The election ends at noon MT on March 18, 2019, so please participate today. The sooner we hit quorum, the sooner we can stop sending reminders and have election issues resolved once and for all. Global Power, Lethality and Servant Leadership: Air Force Chief of Staff Addresses Airmen, Cadets at Air Force Academy
The Air Force's top officer doesn't parse words when it comes to describing his confidence in the capability of the Air Force. Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. David Goldfein '83 said his faith in today's Total Force Airmen allows him to send a simple message to any adversary spanning the globe.


National Character and Leadership Symposium 2019
Each year a new theme for the symposium is selected based on the overall mission of the Academy. This year's theme was "Leadership, Teamwork, and Organizational Management." View photos and watch videos from NCLS speakers.

Last night, 400 cadets were treated to a special screening of "Captain Marvel." The fictional superhero's origin story includes attending the Air Force Academy.

ATO "Superstar"
A few years have passed since 87-year-old Kimbrough Bassett was a young air training officer (ATO) welcoming the first class of Air Force Academy cadets to Lowry Air Force Base in 1955. Bassett's Academy experiences and his wife's (pictured right) love of tennis helped him decide to endow a women's tennis award in her memory.


'Never Be Afraid to Do Your Best'
Former Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta was among the notable speakers at the 2019 National Character and Leadership Symposium. Watch his Class of 1973 John and Lyn Muse Lecture, titled "Never Be Afraid to Do Your Best."

Air Force Association Announces New President
Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Bruce Wright '73 will direct the association's professional staff and be responsible for the management and operations of the association, which include professional development events across the country, advocacy initiatives on Capitol Hill, and national and international aerospace education programs.


Senior Air Force Alumna Honored with Prestigious AACSB, NPS Awards
U.S. Air Force Brig. Gen. Alice Trevino '93 received dual honors during a ceremony on the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) campus when the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) inducted her into its 2019 Class of Influential Leaders, in addition to NPS designating her as a distinguished alumna.


Passion for Space, Hope for Future
Col. Jack D. Fischer '96, the 50th Space Wing's new vice commander, anticipates a bright future for Schriever Air Force Base, Colorado. As vice commander, Fischer's role entails supporting the wing commander's vision for the base as well as providing leadership to all Schriever personnel.


NFL Strength and Conditioning Coordinator
The Green Bay Packers promoted Chris Gizzi '97 to strength & conditioning coordinator. Gizzi was named the Western Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year for Air Force in both '96 and '97.


New Memorial at Air Force Academy Will Honor Air Warriors
Sculptor Jim Nance '71 wants visitors to the memorial to leave with "a deeper understanding of the role of airpower in warfare and national security."


100th Night Dining In — Class of 2019
The Class of 2019 celebrated 100th Night with a formal dinner on Feb. 19, 2019. Also in attendance for the event were members from the Class of 1969, the Class of 2019's legacy class. These graduates have been involved with the Class of 2019 since they were basics.

Planetarium Grand Opening
The grand opening of the Air Force Academy Planetarium took place March, 2, 2019. Steve Spangler wowed visitors from the Colorado Springs community, cadets and permanent party members to kick things off. Make the planetarium a part of your next visit!


Navigating Back From Suicide: Air Force Academy Provides Assistance to Survivors
The Air Force and the Academy are not satisfied with simply working to eradicate suicide from their ranks — they are committed to helping airmen and their families deal with the trauma suicide produces.

School-Record 61 Falcons Earn MW All-Academic Honors
Air Force placed a school-record 61 student-athletes on the 2018 Mountain West Fall Academic Team. The previous record for the Falcons was 44 in 2009-10.


Former Linebacker Finds Competition After Football
After high school, Nick Waterman was drawn to the Air Force Academy both for the chance to serve his country and the opportunity to keep playing football. When the latter didn't work out, however, he found a new athletic outlet with a special family connection. After he graduates from the Academy in May, Waterman begins an assignment as a logistics readiness officer at Fairchild Air Force Base in Washington.


Repeat Champions Headline Wing Open Finals
Nine repeat champions highlighted the 61st-annual Wing Open Championships, which were held Feb. 28, 2019, under the lights of Clune Arena.
