Electronic Election Forum: Jan. 17, 2019
AOG Board Chair Cathy McClain '82 will be conducting an Electronic Election Forum at 6:30 p.m. (MT) on Thursday, Jan. 17, to answer questions about the 2019 election. AOG members will be able to attend live via teleconferencing technology. The Election Forum will last for up to 60 minutes and a wide range of questions will be addressed. Please submit your questions ahead of time to elections@aogusafa.org. Those attending the Election Forum live also may submit questions via the Zoom teleconferencing platform.

The National Hockey League announced that the Air Force Academy's Falcon Stadium will play host to an outdoor NHL game between the Colorado Avalanche and an opponent yet to be determined.

The Air Force Academy welcomes visitors to view the total lunar eclipse at the base planetarium, Sunday, Jan. 20, 2019, and chat with the school's observatory director. The eclipse is predicted to last an hour and be visible from anywhere in the U.S.

Sonobe Honored by Southwestern Oklahoma State University
Four former Southwestern Oklahoma State University employees were recently honored by the SWOSU Alumni Association. After retiring from the Air Force in 1990, Blake Sonobe '70 joined the university's Chemistry faculty and served as vice president for academic affairs & provost beginning in 2005 until he was named vice chancellor for academic affairs with the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education in 2012.

The USPA National Collegiate Parachuting Championships were held in Eloy, Arizona from Dec. 28 - Jan. 2. Seventy-eight competitors from 13 schools participated, with numerous Air Force jumpers placing among the top spots.
