USAFA Distinguished Graduate Award Honorees Announced
The United States Air Force Academy and the Association of Graduates are proud to announce five Distinguished Graduate Award honorees for 2019.
Col. (Ret.) Leslie Denend '63, Mr. Fletcher "Flash" Wiley' 65, Gen. (Ret.) Norton "Norty" Schwartz '73, Gen. (Ret.) Edward Rice Jr. '78 and Mr. John "Jack" Kucera '78 will receive their awards at the annual Founders Day banquet Friday, April 3, 2020, at the Air Force Academy.

On Saturday, Dec. 14, 2019, at 10 a.m. there will be a wreath-laying ceremony at the USAFA Cemetery. Organizers are requesting support for this event. Young Alumni Excellence Award Nominations Now Open
Each spring, the Association of Graduates has the pleasure of honoring graduates who attended the United States Air Force Academy within the last 15 years with our Young Alumni Excellence Award. The award is presented on the basis of the recipient's outstanding professional achievements and contributions to their community, whether in military or civilian life. Nomination deadline: Jan. 10, 2020.

#GivingTuesday Was a Smashing Success
More than 450 graduates, families and friends supported the U.S. Air Force Academy through the USAFA Endowment on #GivingTuesday Dec. 3. Together, they donated nearly $145,000 to class reunion gift projects, the Air Force Academy Fund and other programs.

The Air Force Academy recognized two new permanent professors at an investiture ceremony in Polaris Hall, Dec. 6. Academy superintendent, Lt. Gen. Jay Silveria '85, formally invested Col. Richard Cooney '93, department of behavioral sciences and leadership, and Col. Douglas Wickert '95, department of aeronautics.
