'Let the Journey Begin': Most Diverse Class in Air Force Academy History Reports for Basic Cadet Training
Droves of young men and women making up the new Class of 2022 reported to Basic Cadet Training at the Air Force Academy on June 28, 2018. Roughly 34 percent of the new class self-identifies as a minority, and 79 new basic cadets are children of Air Force Academy graduates.

Parent and Family Giving
As cadets embark on six weeks of Basic Cadet Training, parents are exploring avenues for meaningful engagement with the Academy through Parent and Family Giving.


Air Force Academy Fund
Expand the excellence of cadet training with a gift to the Air Force Academy Fund. Gifts enhance cadet programs, graduate programs and services, and provide direct support to the Academy for immediate strategic needs identified by the superintendent and the Academy senior leadership.


Excellence in Research
Cadets have opportunities to do unique graduate-level research within one of the Academy's 21 research centers and institutes. They also can expand their horizons through the Cadet Summer Research Program, doing focused research within the Department of Defense, related government agencies and private research laboratories.


All Academy Challenge Update
Air Force Academy graduates stepped up to the 2018 All Academy Challenge, raising more than $255,000 to support transformative programs that prepare cadets to become leaders of character for the Air Force and the nation.

Siblings Sworn to Serve
Although the decision to serve side-by-side as brother and sister wasn't a coordinated endeavor, their career paths aligned when Adrienne Stahl '03 entered the U.S. Air Force Academy in 1999. Her brother, Brian Stahl '00, a senior at the Academy, helped to push and motivate her along the way, giving her a unique freshman experience. Their military journey together started here, and from there their careers would cross paths time and time again.

School Board Awards Laura Ashley Piper Scholarship
First Lt. Laura Ashley Piper '92 was killed in action over northern Iraq in April 1994. To honor her strong commitment to student participation and to recognize her high standards of achievement and involvement, and her willingness to continually accept responsibility throughout her lifetime, an annual scholarship was established.

Air Force Athletics and the department's Pride Club hosted a reception for parents of intercollegiate athletes during Air Force Academy Inprocessing Day at Clune Arena inside the Cadet Field House.


Falcon Stadium Renovation Continues
The dream is nearing reality as the Falcon Stadium renovation project is continuing. The Falcons open the season Sept. 1 against Stony Brook and when they do the team will be in its newly constructed locker room.


Nic Ready To Participate In 2018 College Home Run Derby
Air Force's Nic Ready, recognized as one of the top power hitters in college baseball, will participate in the College Home Run Derby to air live on ESPN2 on Saturday, June 30, at 7 p.m. CT.
