USAFA Grad Earns Airman's Medal for Saving Lives of 3 Swimmers
A 20th Space Control Squadron Airman who graduated from the Air Force Academy in 2015 was honored with an Airman's Medal for his actions Jan. 10. First Lt. Dominic Vicino distinguished himself by risking his life to save three others March 31 at Miramar Beach, Florida.

Graduate Dependent Scholarships
The Board of Directors of the Association of Graduates is pleased to once again offer Graduate Dependent Scholarships. These scholarships are annual awards of $500 and are intended to directly support post-secondary education for the children of AOG graduate members. The application deadline is March 4, 2018.

U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame to Welcome Dr. Thomas D. Jones, Captain Scott D. Altman
Dr. Thomas Jones '77's contributions to the U.S. space program have gone well beyond his 11 years with NASA, during which he flew on four space shuttle missions to Earth orbit. A graduate of the Air Force Academy and former B-52 bomber pilot, Jones joined NASA in 1990.

On January 13, the Atlanta Falcons lost to the Philadelphia Eagles, which brought an end to the team's Super Bowl dreams. Falcons offensive lineman Ben Garland '10 may not be going to the big game, but he's still sending a Gold Star wife and her 3-year-old son.

The annual National Character and Leadership Symposium (NCLS) is the United States Air Force Academy's flagship event on character and leadership. It brings together distinguished scholars, military leaders, corporate executives and world-class athletes to motivate and equip participants for honorable living and effective leadership. It will next take place on February 22-23, 2018.

Air Force Wins Against Utah State, 57-50, On Pink Night
Air Force women's basketball defeated Utah State, 57-50, in Mountain West action Wednesday night at Clune Arena. The Falcons captured their first victory of the season, aided by 16 points from Kaelin Immel and 14 by Cortney Porter. Air Force wore pink uniforms as part of its Pink Game in honor of Breast Cancer awareness.
