The Air Force Academy and its Association of Graduates will recognize three distinguished graduates John Fox '63, T. Allan McArtor '64 and Gen. (Ret.) Steve Lorenz '73 April 6 at the Academy's Founders Day Dinner.

Lt. Gen. Jay Silveria '85, Superintendent of the Air Force Academy, will host a State of the U.S. Air Force Academy briefing for community leaders at 1 p.m. Friday, April 6, in Polaris Hall. The general's address will be broadcast live online.

New Base Commander Coming to Wright-Patt
Wright-Patterson Air Force Base will welcome a new leader this summer. Col. Thomas Sherman '95, commander with Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center at Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado, will replace Col. Bradley McDonald '94 as 88th Air Base Wing commander.

The AIAA Public Service Award is the highest recognition the AIAA bestows to a person outside the aerospace community who has shown consistent and visible support for national aviation and space goals. George C. Nield '72, associate administrator Commercial Space Transportation, Federal Aviation Administration, was honored "for his dedicated service to our nation's space programs, and his ongoing efforts to encourage, facilitate, and promote commercial space transportation."

Air Force Set to Host MPSF Championships
Air Force junior Jonah Urlaub won the varsity all-around and the men's gymnastics team captured its ninth-straight USAG team title. The 11th-ranked Air Force men's gymnastics team remains at the Academy this weekend, when it hosts the 2018 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championships, which includes two of the top four teams in the nation.

Falcons Upset No. 1 St. Cloud State
With the win, Air Force hockey advanced to the NCAA Elite Eight for the second straight season and the third time in school history. The Falcons defeated the nation's No. 1 team for the first time in school history. In the following game, Minnesota Duluth scored two goals in the first period and then held off Air Force for a 2-1 win in the championship game of the NCAA West Regional.
