USAFA Cadets Get 1st Win in 50-year History of Sandhurst Military Skills Competition
Air Force cadets beat Army cadets to take the top prize at the two-day Sandhurst Military Skills Competition April 13-14 at the U.S. Military Academy. It's the first time Air Force Academy cadets have won since the competition started in 1967.

Colonel Jennifer Block Named Academy's Interim Athletics Director
Col. Jennifer Block has been named the interim director of athletics for the Air Force Academy. Block is a 1992 graduate of the Academy where she was a four-year letter winner in volleyball and served as the Athletic Department's Climate and Diversity from 2015 to 2017. Academy officials have begun the search for a permanent replacement for Jim Knowlton who will take over as the director of athletics at the University of California, Berkeley.

Gen. Terrence O'Shaughnessy '86, currently the head of Pacific Air Forces, has been tapped to lead U.S. Northern Command and the North American Aerospace Defense Command, commonly referred to as NORAD, the Defense Department announced.

Charleston Southern University has selected Air Force Chief of Chaplains Maj. Gen. Dondi E. Costin '86 to serve as its third president starting in June. A decorated combat veteran, Costin has served for 32 years in the Air Force, earning the Legion of Merit and the Bronze Star Medal.
