Air Force Academy Boss Wants Colorado Springs Community to Stop By for a Visit
No structure is more iconic on the Academy than the Cadet Chapel, the most popular man-made tourist attraction in Colorado. Although it can be viewed from almost anywhere in the Colorado Springs region, the Academy's superintendent invites the community to visit it in person before the Chapel closes in 2019 for much-needed renovations.

In The Stairwell Crowdfunding Project
In The Stairwell, 2017 "America's Got Talent" semifinalists, needs funding to support its 2017-18 travel costs and fees associated with international competitions, where the club represents USAFA. In The Stairwell has obtained Mission Club status at the Academy and only recently has been able to request funding. The new club status, together with the group's recent success, has increased visibility, which has increased the number of requests for them to perform.

Miller Selected for Johnson Chair for the Study of the Profession of Arms
Retired Air Force Lt. Gen. Christopher Miller '80 is the inaugural chair for the Study of the Profession of Arms at the Air Force Academy. He is leading the charge on research into the profession of arms while enhancing understanding of the topic and its operational challenges.

Planetarium Renovation
Work has begun on the planetarium renovation and it should be completed by the end of 2018. The Endowment is still raising money to furnish the interior of the building, including the projection systems needed for it to operate.

New LeMay Commander Challenges the Center to Stay Out In Front
Amid the roar of helicopters avoiding Hurricane Irma and landing on the flight line only a few hundred yards away, the airmen of the LeMay Center welcomed a new commander. Maj. Gen. Michael D. Rothstein '88 assumed command of the Curtis E. LeMay Center for Doctrine Development and Education during a ceremony.

CyberWorx "Design Thinking" Delivers Solutions to AF Problems
We're celebrating the anniversary of Air Force CyberWorx. During our first year, we've completed 10 design sprints; worked with more than 100 Air Force and DoD operators on wicked problems; taught nearly 75 cadets "design thinking" methods; sent cadets for internships and brought almost 50 industry and academic partners into our studios to help us solve Air Force problems by pioneering new contracting mechanisms with the help of USAFA's legal, contracting, security and communications squadrons.
