In all, 237 arrived for Basic Military Training (BMT), many escorted by their families. Many of the parents that day boisterously support their child's dreams of being admitted to the Academy, but were still hesitant to part.

The USAFA Endowment at 10
On July 12, 2017, the USAFA Endowment celebrated 10 years of being the premier fund-raising organization of the U.S. Air Force Academy. Graduates, families and friends have rallied together to raise $127 million since 2007 in support of the Academy mission. During the first five years, the Endowment's accomplishments included two major building campaigns.

A New Future Awaits the Planetarium
The Air Force Academy is preparing to transform its shuttered planetarium into a modern educational and STEM outreach center. When completed, the renovated facility will be capable of hosting networked interactive experiences, advanced computer simulations, celestial navigation presentations, movies and star field programs. Fund raising continues to help pay for equipment upgrades and program support into the future.

Falcons Place Record 41 Student-Athletes on MW Scholar Athlete Team
Air Force placed a record 41 student-athletes on the Mountain West Scholar-Athlete team. The 41 student-athletes are the most ever in Mountain West-sponsored sports only. The previous high was 39 in 2014-15.

Air Force placed 75 student-athletes on the spring Academic All-Mountain West team. The 75 student-athletes honored are the third most since joining the Mountain West in 1999-00. The school record of 81 honorees was set during the 2015-16 spring season.
