US Air Force to Host 2018 DOD Warrior Games at Air Force Academy
Defense Department officials announced the Air Force will host the 2018 DOD Warrior Games at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado, next June. The announcement took place during the closing ceremony of the Navy-hosted 2017 DOD Warrior Games in Chicago.

Class of 2021 basic cadets stopped by Doolittle Hall at the Air Force Academy for a little history lesson, some inspiration and a bit of advice from USAFA graduates. They walked the Heritage Trail, heard from Vietnam War veterans at the Plaza of Heroes and the Southeast Asia Pavilion, learned about the Doolittle Raid and found out about grads who have gone on to do great things. 2004 Grad Makes 2018 Thunderbirds List
Maj. Eric Gorney, a 2004 Academy graduate, is assigned to the 613th Air Operations Center at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii. He's slated to fly as Thunderbird No. 7, the team's operations officer.

Creech Air Force Base 'Hunters' Welcome New Commander
Hundreds of "hunters," as they're known in the drone warfare world, welcomed a new leader, Col. Julian "Ghost" Cheater '94, during a change-of-command ceremony at Creech Air Force Base. They also bade goodbye to Case Cunningham '94, a former Thunderbirds commander-leader who guided the 432nd Expeditionary Wing for two years in combat operations from the Southern Nevada base.

First Faces: 1st Lt. Fiona Akoth
For 1st Lt. Fiona Akoth '15, moving from Kisumu, Kenya, a small fishing city on the edge of Lake Victoria in Africa, to the U.S. was one of the most challenging moments in her life. Akoth graduated from the Air Force Academy and is now in the 14th Student Squadron, training to be an Air Force pilot at Columbus Air Force Base, Mississippi.

The 22-year-old Colorado native recently graduated from the Air Force Academy and is pitching professionally in the Minnesota Twins organization while on a 60-day leave. His full-time job right now is being a second lieutenant in the Air Force.
