1,181 Complete Basic Training, Join Cadet Wing
Nearly 1,200 young men and women completed Basic Cadet Training at the Air Force Academy. The Class of 2021 officially became "cadets" Aug. 9 during the Academy's annual Acceptance Day ceremony, which represents a symbolic shift from the status of basic trainee to cadet fourth class.

233 Graduate Prep School Basic Training
Scores of young adults earned the title "cadet candidate" by completing basic training at the Air Force Academy Prep School. In all, 233 Basic Military Training graduates attended a ceremony in front of relatives, their peers and Prep School staff.

Academy Announces Jabara Award Winner
A high-level award for Air Force Academy graduates goes this year to a pilot who flew combat missions over Syria and Iraq. Capt. Brian Guyette, B-1 bomber pilot and 2008 graduate, is scheduled to receive the Col. James Jabara Award for Airmanship at an awards dinner, 6-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 25, in Doolittle Hall.
