We are celebrating 55 years of service this week! Academy Superintendent Lt. Gen. Thomas Moorman established the Association of Graduates on August 12, 1965. Capt. Dick Mathews, Class of 1960, was the first AOG alumni secretary. Join in the fun on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn and ZoomieLink where we'll be talking all week about our heritage and our continuing commitment to the Long Blue Line!

Connections

All Academy ChallengeAll Academy Challenge: United in Competition
Starting Sunday, Aug. 16, you are invited to take part in the All Academy Challenge — a friendly competition among the service academies to achieve the highest giving percentage among each graduate community. Graduates will have several options for support, including the Air Force Academy Fund, athletics, class giving projects, the Sabre Society and more. The All Academy Challenge website goes live Aug. 16.

Acceptance DayAcceptance Day: Class of 2024
This week we shared photos and video online from the Class of 2024's Acceptance Day Parade. Guest speaker for the event was Col. (Ret.) Edward Whalen, president of the Class of 1974 — the Legacy Class for the Class of 2024.

Mountain West ConferenceMountain West Postpones 2020 Fall Sports
If you hadn't heard, we recently shared the news online that the Mountain West had announced the indefinite postponement of all scheduled fall sports contests. Air Force Director of Athletics Nathan Pine added that the health and safety of our cadet-athletes, coaches, staff and community has been and will continue to be the top priority. He also mentioned that Air Force will have the opportunity to continue to explore competitions against Army and Navy if conditions allow.

Service

SandersAOG Service Spotlight
In January 2020, we initiated the Service Before Self Challenge, urging members of the USAFA family to donate at least 65 minutes of their time toward community service. Incredibly, we shattered our initial goals in the very first month, so we raised the bar and our USAFA family responded with more than 488,000 total service minutes donated throughout the challenge. For our service spotlight this month, we are honoring all the challenge participants and sharing more of their inspiring stories.

Opportunity to Serve On Your AOG Board
Your Association of Graduates will be filling five open positions on its Board of Directors starting May 2021. If you are interested in serving on the AOG Board, please go to www.usafa.org/election/candidate for a full list of commitments and to submit your nomination packet.

Programs

Membership CornerAOG
The Association of Graduates would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our members for your support and commitment to the United States Air Force Academy through your membership. We would not be able to fulfill our vision and mission if it were not for the support of our members. We would like to thank each of you personally as you join for the first time or renew. A special thank you to all of our new families in the Class of 2024 and Prep School for joining through our Family Plan and Husky Club membership programs! Please help us in welcoming our new and returning members.

Reunions Postponed to 2021
All 2020 reunion classes have decided to push to 2021. We'd like to thank everyone for your patience as we all try to navigate what reunions at USAFA — during the time of COVID-19 and beyond — may look like. Please feel free to reach out to reunions@aogusafa.org with any questions you may have! Thank you!

We want to be people's first choice for flying in and out of Colorado. We're here to make everything easy and friendly and to give people a reason to say "I love my small airport."
