You Have Until This Friday to Get Your Nominations In — Young Alumni Excellence Award
Do you know a young alum (15 years or less from their graduation year) who has distinguished himself or herself by obtaining a high level of professional or philanthropic achievement and who possesses high standards of integrity and character that positively reflect and enhance the prestige of the Air Force Academy? If so, this award is the perfect way to recognize him or her. If you would like to nominate an alum who has graduated recently from the Academy, please go to our website and nominate them today. The deadline for submissions is Friday, Jan. 19, 2018.

The AOG also is seeking volunteers to evaluate candidates for the Young Alumni Excellence Award. Volunteers are needed to review and rate the applications between Jan. 23 and Feb. 2, 2018. If you are interested in volunteering for this program, please contact Corrie Grubbs by Jan. 19, 2018.

Graduate Dependent Scholarships
The Board of Directors of the Association of Graduates is pleased to once again offer Graduate Dependent Scholarships. These scholarships are annual awards of $500 and are intended to directly support post-secondary education for the children of AOG graduate members. For complete eligibility requirements and an application, visit usafa.org/membership/scholarships. The application deadline is March 4, 2018.

There will be several events to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the passing of Captain Lance P. Sijan '65 on Jan. 22, 2018. All of the memorial events and elements can be followed on the "Team Sijan" Facebook page. From Jan. 17-22, "Team Sijan" will be posting updates as to where Capt. Sijan was on each day of his heroic journey 50 years ago.
